29/10/2026

Descripció del treball

The Institut de Recerca Biomèdica Catalunya Sud (IRBCatSud) is an institution that integrates research in the field of biomedicine in the “Camp de Tarragona” and the “Terres de l’Ebre”. IRBCatSud is the instrument that the university hospitals of both health regions have been endowed with (Joan XXIII University Hospital of Tarragona, Verge de la Cinta Hospital of Tortosa, Sant Joan de Reus University Hospital, Institut Pere Mata University Hospital of Reus) and Rovira and Virgili University, in order to bring together and manage biomedical research and innovation in the territory.

The selected postdoctoral researcher will conduct ,in the Liver Research Unit, experimental and translational research in hepatic vascular biology, with a focus on hepatic microcirculation, sinusoidal cell dysfunction and haemodynamic alterations in liver disease. The role combines experimental work, data analysis, scientific communication and student supervision.

Number of available positions: 1

The selected candidate will perform the following tasks:

– Plan and conduct research on hepatic vascular biology and the mechanisms linking sinusoidal cell dysfunction to liver disease and portal hypertension.

– Perform experiments in animal models of liver disease, including hepatic and systemic haemodynamic studies and the collection and processing of biological samples.

– Isolate, maintain and characterise primary liver cells, and conduct cell culture experiments and functional, molecular and cellular studies.

– Analyse and interpret experimental results, apply appropriate statistical methods and maintain clear, reproducible records of experiments and data.

– Prepare figures, abstracts and oral or poster presentations for group meetings, scientific conferences and project reporting.

– Supervise and train undergraduate, Master’s and PhD students in experimental techniques, data analysis and scientific communication, in coordination with the group leader.

– Draft and revise scientific manuscripts, contribute to responses to reviewers and collaborate with the research team and project partners.
