Jordi Gracia-Sancho, head of the Hepatology Research Group at IRB CatSud, took part as an invited speaker at the 62nd Congress of the Japan Society of Hepatology, held in Niigata, Japan, on 18 and 19 June.<\/p>\n<div>\n<p>During the congress, Gracia-Sancho gave a lecture on the pathophysiological mechanisms of portal hypertension and the therapeutic basis of emerging treatment strategies for this condition, which is one of the main complications of chronic liver diseases.
