OBJECTIUS

A SUSCAPE ens centrem principalment en el desenvolupament d’eines quantitatives basades en la programació matemàtica per abordar el disseny i planificació de processos sostenibles. El nostre enfocament es basa en l’ús combinat de tècniques de modelització i principis d’avaluació del cicle de vida, un marc que ens permet sistematitzar la identificació d’alternatives que condueixin a un estalvi ambiental. Les nostres principals àrees d’estudi inclouen la sostenibilitat, l’enginyeria de processos, edificis i eficiència energètica i programació matemàtica.

Environmental Analysis and Management using Computer Aided Process Engineering (AGACAPE) té una àmplia experiència de R+D+i desenvolupant eines assistides per ordinador per a la transició cap a un sector químic i de producció energètica més sostenible. En aquest sentit, tenim experiència desenvolupant un marc per incorporar principis de sostenibilitat en el disseny de processos químics que combina tot un conjunt d’eines. AGACAPE és un grup multidisciplinari i interdisciplinari que s’estructura en tres àrees:

1)Programació matemàtica i simulació de processos fent servir eines d’enginyeria de processos

2) Avaluació de l’impacte ambiental, fent servir l’anàlisi de cicle de vida i l’ecodisseny

3) Avaluació del risc ambiental i per a la salut humana. Les eines de suport a la pressa de decisions desenvolupades pel grup sovint necessiten l’aplicació d’aquests tres enfocaments simultàniament; per exemple l’optimització d’un procés industrial requereix la integració dels aspectes econòmics, ambientals, socials, i una avaluació dels riscos per a la salut humana
