The Catalunya Sud Institute for Biomedical Research (IRBCatSud) is an institution that integrates research in the field of biomedicine in the “Camp de Tarragona” and the “Terres de l’Ebre”. The IRBCatSud is the instrument that the university hospitals of both health regions have been endowed with (Joan XXIII University Hospital of Tarragona, Verge de la Cinta Hospital of Tortosa, Sant Joan de Reus University Hospital, Institut Pere Mata University Hospital of Reus) and Rovira and Virgili University, in order to bring together and manage biomedical research and innovation in the territory.
The Translational and Clinical Research Cardiology Group of Tarragona Cardiology Research Group – INVESCART belongs to the Catalunya Sud Institute for Biomedical Research (IRBCatSud):
The Translational and Clinical Research Cardiology Group of Tarragona Cardiology Research Group – INVESCART is functionally attached to the Joan XXIII Hospital. The research group works in the whole field of cardiovascular disease, particularly in ischemic heart disease and heart failure. There are several lines of research, whose objectives (among others) are to evaluate the efficacy and safety of ablation techniques in different arrhythmogenic substrates, to analyse and optimize of stimulation devices programming, to estimate the diagnostic and prognostic value of biomarkers in cardiovascular diseases, to assess platelet function and pharmacodynamic efficacy of antithrombotic agents in order to implement individualized antithrombotic strategies in several atherothrombotic diseases, and to evaluate the impact of diagnostic or therapeutic devices in percutaneous coronary or structural procedures.

To access the interview phase, it is necessary to have obtained a minimum score of 40 points in the sum of the scores of the assessment of the CV and motivation letter.
