OBJECTIUS

L’objectiu del grup de recerca és estudiar la bioactivitat dels aliments a nivell del tracte gastrointestinal, es a dir, avaluar com diferents components de la nostra dieta poden afectar de manera adversa o beneficiosa el nostre intestí, i com aquesta interacció pot influenciar la salut de la resta de l’organisme. Dins les nostres línies d’estudi posem èmfasi en la caracterització a nivell molecular de la interacció de components de la dieta amb el sistema enteroendocrí, la capacitat d’aquests compostos de modificar la integritat de la barrera intestinal i el seu efecte immunomodulador, així com l’estudi d’alteracions de la microbiota intestinal provocades per certs aliments, l’anàlisi dels efectes epigenètics de diferents compostos bioactius en situacions d’estrès metabòlic com són l’obesitat o l’envelliment i l’estudi de l’efecte de fonts alternatives de proteïnes d’alta qualitat nutricional i més sostenibles mediambientals.

El grup està format per doctores i doctors, estudiants de doctorat i personal tècnic que centrem els nostres estudis en descriure i entendre com els components bioactius dels aliments modulen el metabolisme i la salut, a través de les senyals enteroendocrines, els seus efectes sobre la gana i la seva activitat antiinflamatòria, principalment treballant a nivell del tracte gastrointestinal.
